Beef & guinness pies

Serves: 4 people

  • 1 tbs oil
  • 500g beef mince
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 carrot, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tbs worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup Guinness or beer
  • 2 cups Campbell's Real Stock – Beef
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg


  1. Pre-heat oven to 200°C Heat oil in a frying pan. Add mince, chopped garlic, onion & carrot. Cook for 4 minutes or until meat has browned.
  2. Add peas, Worcestershire sauce & flour. Cook for 1 min, stirring.
  3. Add Guinness, stock, bring to the boil, stirring until just thickened. Season with salt and pepper.Divide between four 1-cup capacity ovenproof dishes.
  4. Cut pastry sheet into quarters & place on top of each pie (or alternatively cut pastry into circles to fit top of ramekin) then trim excess. Whisk egg in a small bowl and brush egg on top of the pastry. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Serve with steamed vegetables.
