Beef & Guiness pies

Method

  • Pre-heat oven to 200ºC. Heat oil in a frying pan. Add mince, onion & carrot. Cook for 4 minutes or until meat has browned.
  • Add peas, Worcestershire sauce & flour. Cook for 1 min, stirring.
  • Add Guinness & stock, bring to the boil, stirring until just thickened. Divide between four 2-cup capacity ovenproof dishes.  
  • Cut pastry sheet into quarters & place on top of each pie.  (Or alternatively cut ipastry into circles to fit top of ramekin, then trim excess). Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Serve with steamed vegetables.

Ingredients

1 tbsp oil
500g beef mince
1 onion, finely diced
1 carrot, finely diced
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup plain flour
1/2 cup Guinness or beer
1 x 500ml pack Campbell’s Real Stock - Beef
1 - 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
