Campbell’s Real Stock can add flavour to so many foods. So besides just using it to cook your favourite soups and casseroles it’s also great to add flavour to rice, couscous, mash, pasta sauces, marinades, gravies and many other dishes.
Here are our top 12 quick tips for cooking with Campbell’s Real Stock.
Tip 1: Flavourful Rice – To make your rice even more delicious cook your rice in stock instead of water. Just place 2 cups of Campbell’s Real stock in a saucepan, stir in 1 cup long grain rice, bring to the boil, reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 12 -15 mins or until rice is tender and the stock has absorbed.
Tip 2: Deliciously easy couscous - Bring 1 ½ cups of Campbell’s Real Stock to the boil. Remove from heat, stir in 1 ½ cups couscous, cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork, to separate grains, before serving.
Tip 3: Skinny Mash - For delicious, low fat mashed potatoes, cook your potatoes in Campbell’s Real Stock, drain, and then mash with a little reserved stock.
Tip 4: Create a richer Bolognese – Just add 1 cup Campbell’s Real Stock to your favourite bolognese recipe.
Tip 5: Delicious Marinades - Just combine 1 cup Campbell’s Real Stock with:
- crushed garlic, grated lemon zest, freshly chopped herbs and chopped chilli.
OR
- with 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar, crushed garlic, a dash of Worcestershire sauce & cracked black pepper.
OR
- ¾ cup red or white wine, 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary or thyme.
Tip 6: Basting Roasts - For a delectable, moist and tender roast, baste your favourite roasted meat and poultry with Campbell’s Real Stock while it is roasting.
Tip 7: Create a rich gravy - Combine pan juices with some flour and mix until smooth. Heat gently, then whisk in some Campbell’s Real Stock and cook to thicken.
Tip 8: Tasty Stir Fries - Just add a little Campbell’s Real Stock to the wok when stir-frying or make a delicious stir-fry sauce by combining stock with garlic, ginger and a little soy or oyster sauce.
Tip 9: Tasty Rissoles, Hamburgers or Meatballs - For deliciously moist rissoles, meatballs or hamburger patties just combine ½ cup of Campbell’s Real Stock with ½ cup of dried breadcrumbs and 500g mince. Add your favourite herbs and spices, such as garlic, rosemary, thyme, oregano, basil or chilli, and mix until combined. Form into patties, or balls, and pan-fry, grill or BBQ until cooked through.
Tip 10: Delicious Golden Roast Vegetables - For golden roast vegetables pour 1 cup of your favourite Campbell’s Real Stock over your vegetables in a baking dish, sprinkle in some of your favourite herbs and toss until combined. Drizzle with a little olive oil. Bake in a hot oven until vegetables are tender and golden. The stock naturally seasons your vegetables and gives a delicious flavour.
Tip 11: Moist and Savoury Stuffing - Use Campbell’s Real Stock instead of water when preparing your favourite stuffing recipe. Substitute an equal amount of Campbell's Real Stock for water as you prepare it.
Tip 12: Healthy Herbed Potato Salad dressing - Make a dressing with 1/2 cup Campbell's Real Stock, 2 tbsp lemon juice, some chopped green spring onion, and a dash your favourite mustard. Pour over hot, cooked diced potatoes, toss then cover then let stand until cool. Stir in 1/4 cup freshly chopped herbs such as chives, parsley, basil or dill, just before serving.
