Eat, drink and be healthy this festive season

Going to a party . . .
Try not to go to a party hungry
Have a nutritious snack or small meal before you go. That way you can enjoy small portions of party food without over-eating. Try having a bowl of your favourite Campbell’s Country Ladle soup before you go to a party. Prepared with the highest quality ingredients, the entire range is 97% fat free, provides a source of fibre and up to two serves of vegetables in every 250g bowl.

Party Food
Can be high in energy and not very filling. Offer to bring healthy treats to parties such as low fat crackers and dips with vegetable sticks, sushi or a fruit platter.

Avoid standing near the food
Easy access to the buffet or platter of nibbles encourages mindless eating.

What about drinks?
Alternate your drink of choice with a glass of V8 Fruit and Veg Juice. Choose your favourite from the range of delicious flavours that not only taste great, but are also packed with the natural goodness of fruit, vegetables and vitamins. Every 250mL glass provides one serve of fruit and one serve of vegetables, so you get the vegetable goodness your body needs with the sweet, refreshing taste of fruit juice.

Grab every chance you can to be as active as possible
Try balancing extra intake at this time of year with some extra activity:

  • Be the first on the dance floor at parties. Dancing is a great way to burn up energy.
  • Choose a café/restaurant nearby so you can walk there – and home!
  • Catch up with friends for a take-away reduced fat coffee and walk to (and around) the park.
